True Treasure in the Philippines

Founder Sparrows Gate Mission
When I learned that the three shivering children I saw embracing each other on a busy street corner in Manila, Philippines, were homeless, and had been there for three days, I knew had come to the right place and found true treasure!
These trembling, wafer thin, little ones were perhaps 5,7 and 10 years old. The youngest was totally nude. Dozens of pedestrians, motorcyclists and drivers past by as if the kids were invisible.
I was in the Philippines in an attempt to find and rescue homeless street kids from a wasted mind and empty heart…in Jesus name, by opening an orphanage by faith, with no funds.
More trips to the Philippines were finally rewarded with what I knew was a divine destination in a Davao City hovel where I began to assist a humble Christian daycare center and school.
Years later our mission was able to buy land and build an orphanage in the jungle on Samal Island, Davao, where precious little ones come to know, love and serve Jesus…the true king of the jungle and universe!
Special thanks to Pastor Paul and Elvie Barner for shepherding His children for years! And to God who helps us love and care for orphans and widows and their children in Mexico, Belize, Amazon and the Philippines.
James 1:27 reminds us that it shouldn’t hurt to be a needy kid or single mom with kids. And Psalm 41:1-3, let’s us know that those who help the poor will be blessed.
